🧠 Two ways to use LLMs

We can use LLMs to do our thinking for us, or to help us think better. The first is the path of least resistance; the second is some of the hardest work I’ve ever done. In the first scenario, LLMs become our masters; in the second, LLMs serve us. When LLMs do our thinking, the work suffers. When LLMs help us think better, the work is better than anything we’ve done before.

Handing work to an LLM doesn’t make it easy. The path to great results is still the same as it has always been - difficult and arduous. Value in our work means creating value for other humans. And humans are still best at defining this: what needs doing, and what good work looks like.
